Casting Announced for Free Reading of Yussef El Guindi's Pilgrims Musa and Sheri in the New World

News   Casting Announced for Free Reading of Yussef El Guindi's Pilgrims Musa and Sheri in the New World Diverse City Theater Company's Green Room Series will continue July 11 at 7:30 PM with a free reading of Yussef El Guindi’s Pilgrims Musa and Sheri in the New World at Manhattan Theatre Club Studios.

Directed by Victor Lirio, the cast will feature Demosthenes Crysan, Bjorn Dupaty, Helen Farmer, Chris Keogh, Natasha Marco and James Rana.

Pilgrims Musa and Sheri in the New World, according to press notes, "explores the universal search for identity.  When Musa, an Egyptian cab driver who has been in America less than a year, falls for Sheri, a sassy American waitress, his life takes unexpected and delightfully complicated turns."

Recipient of the 2010 Middle East America Distinguished Playwright Award, Seattle-based playwright Yussef El Guindi is the author of numerous plays including Our Enemies (Osborn Award), Back of the Throat and Jihad Jones and the Kalashnikov Babes. Pilgrims Musa and Sheri in the New World made its world premiere at ACT in Seattle and is currently running until July 17.

Manhattan Theatre Club Studios are located at 311 West 43rd Street, Studio 2, in New York City.
