News   Casting Announced for Peter Pan is Dead, New Play About Revenge and the World of Love

Peter Pan is Dead, a new play by Brandon Monokian about douchebags, revenge and navigating the world of love, will be performed and simultaneously released as a graphic novel this month.

The stage production will be presented at the William Way LGBT Community Center Sept. 6-21, as a part of the Philadelphia Fringe Festival.

Directed by playwright Monokian, Peter Pan is Dead will star Ali Gleason, Colleen Kreisel, Caitlin Gutches and Josephine Patane, with design by April Gormley.

The graphic novel, featuring art by Sara Sciabbarrasi, will be available for purchase at the performances as well as online here.

Peter Pan is Dead, according to press notes, "is a play about douche-bags, revenge, and navigating the world of love in the year two thousand-and-something. Fairy tales, ancients myths, and the modern world collide in this harsh, yet poignant exploration of youth and expectation. With the comic book, Sciabbarrasi's black and white illustrations allow audiences to experience the text of the play through an unexpected artistic medium."

Playwright Monokian's previous fairytale adaptation, Grimm Women, has been performed throughout New York, New Jersey and Philadelphia and featured reality television star Briella Calafiore ("Jerseylicious"). His Greek myth adaptation, echo, narcissus, narcissus, echo, premiered in NYC this July with the Fresh Fruit Festival. The William Way LGBT Community Center is located at 1315 Spruce Street in Philadelphia, PA.
