News Casting Announced for U.S. Premiere of 2009 Blackburn Award Winner, Christmas Is Miles Away The Babel Theatre Project will present the U.S. premiere of the 2009 Susan Smith Blackburn Award winner, Chloe Moss' Christmas Is Miles Away.

Directed by Geordie Broadwater, performances of Christmas will begin May 1 at Manhattan's Connelly Theatre with an official opening scheduled for May 4. The limited engagement will play through May 23.

The cast will comprise Emily Landham (The Cripple of Inishmaan), Roger Lirtsman (Nobody Likes the Mormons) and Alex Fast (El Grito Del Bronx).

"For Christie, Luke and Julie, time just won’t stand still," read Christmas Is Miles Away press notes. "The eighties turn into the nineties, foreign wars loom but with your walkman and The Smiths, at least there’s a soundtrack. . . [Playwright] Chloe Moss takes on the inevitable and involuntary process of growing up, and asks: can you do it together, or does everyone grow up alone?"

The creative team includes Daniel Zimmerman (sets), Dan Scully (lights), Becky Lasky (costumes), Anthony Gabriele (sound) and Eric Reynolds (props).
