News Casting Complete for New London Production of Ragtime at Fringe Landor Theatre Louisa Lydell, Rosalind James and Kurt Kansley will play Mother, Sarah and Coalhouse Walker, respectively, in a new London production of Ragtime, beginning performances at the fringe Landor Theatre in Clapham Sept. 1 prior to an official opening Sept. 6, for a run through Oct. 8.

They are joined by Lauren Alexandra, Craig Rhys Barlow, John Barr, Emma Beckford, Jamie Birkett , Patsy Blower, Alexander Evans , Graham Hoadly, Michaela Cartmell-Hull, Daniel Jacob, Ashleigh Jones, David McMullan, Leo Miles, Aston New, Hollie O'Donoghue and Judith Paris.

Lydell, who plays Mother, has been in numerous West End musicals, including Love Never Dies, Mamma Mia!, Fame and as Mrs. Lyons in Blood Brothers.

James, who plays Sarah, was recently seen in a production of Hair in Holland, and played Eponine in the recent international tour of Les Miserables. She also appeared in the Les Miserables 25th Anniversary Concert at the 02 Arena.

Kansley, who plays Coalhouse, was understudy for Simba and Banzai in The Lion King in Australia and the West End. Other musical theatre roles include Leroy in Hair, Jimmy in Grand Hotel and appearances in Rent and Hal Prince’s production of Show Boat.

Ragtime the Musical has a book by Terrence McNally, lyrics by Lynn Ahrens and music by Stephen Flaherty. It is based on the novel "Ragtime" by E. L. Doctorow.

The production is directed by Landor Theatre artistic director Robert McWhir. The musical director/orchestrator is George Dyer. Set and costume design is by Martin Thomas, lighting design is by Howard Hudson, and choreography by Matthew Gould. It is produced by John W. Carter and Jason Ferguson in association with the Landor Theatre.
