News Casting Complete for Pinkalicious' New World Stages Engagement Meg Phillips will return to the role of cupcake-loving Pinkalicious when the Vital Theatre Company presents a limited engagement of Pinkalicious The Musical at New World Stages beginning Jan. 12.

Phillips, who originated the role in the Vital Theatre Company production last winter, will reunite with Molly Gilman, who is set to reprise the role of Dr. Wink. From the national tour of Pinkalicious will be Greg Barresi (Peter Pinkerton) and Mathew Pelliccia (Mr. Pinkerton). Erin Wegner Brooks, seen in the Vital production of Littlest Light on the Christmas Tree, joins the cast as Mrs. Pinkerton.

Teresa K. Pond directs the production based on Elizabeth and Victoria Kann's popular children's book "Pinkalicious." John Gregor has penned music, lyrics, orchestrations and the book for the musical in collaboration with the Kann sisters. Pinkalicious has played previous engagements at the Vital Theatre Company and Soho Rep in 2007.

"Pinkalicious can't stop eating pink cupcakes despite warnings from her parents," press materials state. "Her pink indulgence lands her at the doctor's office with Pinkititis, an affliction that turns her pink from head to toe - a dream come true for this pink loving enthusiast. But when her hue goes too far, only Pinkalicious can figure out a way to get out of this predicament."

The musical is appropriate for children ages 4-12. Pinkalicious begins previews Jan. 12 at New World Stages and will open the following day, Jan. 13. Performances take place Saturdays at 2 PM and Sundays at 12 PM through Feb. 10.

Tickets are available by calling (212) 239-6200 or by visiting www.telecharge.com.
