Classic Arts News Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center Launches Fourth Season of Radio Broadcasts David Finckel and Wu Han, artistic directors of the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, have announced the 2006-07 season of national radio broadcasts, which begin today.
The 26 one-hour programs are drawn from live performances recorded during the 2005-2006 season in Alice Tully Hall and the Rose Studio. Programs are hosted by Elliott Forrest and include commentary by the performers, as well as by David Finckel.

The series can be heard nationally on 162 commercial and non-commercial stations. In New York, it will be broadcast on WQXR-FM (96.3) Mondays at 10 pm, beginning today.

Among the highlights of the season are two complete programs of works by Gy‹rgy Ligeti, drawn from the 2006 Ligeti Festival; selections from the celebration of the Shostakovich Centennial; works by Osvaldo Golijov, Michael Daugherty and Schoenberg; and classics by Mozart, Brahms, Debussy and Dvoršk.

Among the many performers featured in the radio series are David Finckel and Wu Han; pianists Pierre-Laurent Aimard, Emanuel Ax, Angela Hewitt and Anne-Marie McDermott; violinists Ani Kavafian and Mark Steinberg; cellists Gary Hoffman and Daniel M‹ller-Schott; the St. Lawrence, Orion, Borromeo, Shanghai, Daedalus, and Pacifica string quartets; and soprano Barbara Hannigan.
