News Charity Football Match to Be Played Between West End Companies of Les Miz and Phantom, Plus Celebrity Friends The West End companies of The Phantom of the Opera and Les Miserables are to swap their costumes for sports kits when they go head-to-head in a charity football match that will be played Aug. 11 at Bromley Football Club.

Both companies will be augmented by celebrity friends. The team for The Phantom of the Opera, in blue and black, will include "Hollyoaks" actor James Atherton, ex-Southampton Football Club player Francis Benali and his son Luke Benali and actor Ralf Little (currently appearing in the West End in The Ladykillers) joining cast members Dom Cobby, Peter Dukes, Michael Kerry, Tim Laurenti, Jeremy Secombe, Richard Shelmerdine, Simon Shorten and Simon Thomas, crew members Chris Barlow, Ben Brown, Ryan O’Gorman, Simon Prockter, ex-cast member Nadim Naama and resident director Sam Hiller.

The Les Miserables team, in red and black, will include singer Mario Falcone, pop singer and former cast member Gareth Gates, McFly's Danny Jones, ex-Southampton and Wales goalkeeper Paul Jones, "Hollyoaks" actor Danny Mac, and ex-West Bromwich Albion FC player "super" Bob Taylor, joining cast members Ethan Bradshaw, Dougie Carter, Lee Dillon-Stuart, Dayle Hodge, Tam Mutu, Jonny Purchase, Leo Roberts and Niall Sheehy, stage manager Ricky Green, resident director Chris Key and associate MD Steve Moss.

The match is a fundraiser for Great Ormond Street Hospital "Theatre for Theatres" charity campaign, which is close to the hearts of many of the cast and crew and which provides invaluable support to so many children and their families. The teams are also playing as a mark of support for Melanie Oakley-Dow, head of wigs at Les Miserables, in her fight against cancer. 

Kick off time is 3 PM with family fun day activities and entertainment for all ages from 1 PM.
