News Check Out This Mashup of Hamilton and the Cult Film "The Room" (Video) What does the Broadway musical Hamilton have in common with the 2003 cult film "The Room"? A lot, according to Zachary Spound and Jeremy Fassler.

Spound, an actor and composer, and Fassler, an MFA theatre student at Harvard, have collaborated on a video mashup of the two projects they call "Oh Hi Hamilton."

Spound shared the backstory with Playbill.com.

"My friend Jeremy, co-writer and director, was an apprentice at a Vassar theatre program the same summer that [Lin-Manuel] Miranda was workshopping Act I of The Hamilton Mixtape [the project's original title]. He met Miranda and found out that he is a huge fan of 'The Room,' which we are as well. Flash forward to three months ago, when we become obsessed with the Hamilton cast recording with the rest of the theatre world. We started talking about how hilarious it would be if we rewrote 'The Room' with characters and songs from Hamilton. So 'Oh Hi Hamilton' was born. The lyrics are rewritten to incorporate the most iconic dialogue from 'The Room' into the most iconic moments from Hamilton."

Hamilton tells the story of the rise and fall of Founding Father Alexander Hamilton. "The Room" tells the story of a San Francisco banker who discovers that his girlfriend has been cheating on him with his best friend.

The parody is directed by Fassler and co-written by Fassler and Spound. Spound also arranged and produced the music.

The skit stars Spound as Tommy Wiseau/Hamilton, Emilia Barrosse as Eliza, Jeremy as Aaron Burr and Lindsey Kay Carlson as Angelica.
