News Chekhov-Inspired From Russia With Angst Plays Off-Broadway Beginning June 11 The WorkShop Theater Company's collection of one-act plays, From Russia With Angst, begins performances Off-Broadway June 11.

Inspired by the short stories of Russian playwright Anton Chekhov, WorkShop Theater Company's resident playwrights each created a work which corresponds to one of Chekhov's pieces.

The works included are Death of a Government Employee (based on "Death of a Government Clerk") by Jonathan Pereira, directed by Katrin Hilbe; In Country (based on "In a Country House") written and directed by Timothy Scott Harris; Joy (based on the short of the same name) by Robert Strozier, directed by Elena Araoz; Misery, Apathy and Despair (based on "An Artist's Story") by John Mc Kinney, directed by Richard Kent Green; and We'll Take a Cup of Kindness Yet (based on "Misery") by Scott Sickles, directed by David Gautschy.

The cast features Sutton Crawford, James Davies, Jed Dickson, Liz Forst, James Franchini, Dee Dee Friedman, Stephen Girasuolo, Michael Gnat, Carrie Edel Isaacman, Noah Keen, Carolinne Messihi, Mike Mihm, David M. Pincus, Amanda Sayle, Tracy Shar and Sean Singer.

Designing From Russia With Angst are Duane Pagano (lighting design), John Scheffler (scenic design) and David Schulder (sound and projection design).
