Original director Doug Hughes again stages the work which actually performs in Center Theatre Group's Ahmanson Theatre (accommodating the tour's proscenium based staging). The drama opens Sept. 27 for a run through Oct. 29.
"Set against the backdrop of a Bronx Catholic school in 1964, Doubt is the story of a strong-minded woman faced with a difficult decision," according to show materials. "Should she voice concerns about one of her male colleagues…even if she's not entirely certain of the truth?"
Chris McGarry (Defiance, Salome) also appears in the cast as Father Flynn with Lisa Joyce (Red Light Winter) as Sister James.
Following its L.A. run, the national tour of Doubt will be seen at the following:
Merriam Theater - Philadelphia, PA (May 15-20, 2007) Doubt was originally produced Off-Broadway by Manhattan Theatre Club then transferred to Broadway's Walter Kerr Theatre — where it earned Tony Awards for actresses Jones and Lenox, director Hughes and for Best Play.
