Classic Arts News   Chicago Symphony Picks New Principal Trumpeter
The Chicago Symphony has chosen Chris Martin, currently the principal trumpeter of the Atlanta Symphony, to fill its own principal trumpet chair, the Chicago Tribune reports.

The orchestra will make an official announcement of the appointment soon, according to the paper.

Adolph "Bud" Herseth, a legendary figure, was the CSO's principal for 53 years ending in 2001. He was replaced by Craig Morris, a former associate principal of the San Francisco Symphony, but Morris departed at the end of his two-year probationary period in 2003.
