News   Chicago to Welcome Tom Hewitt, Robert Creighton, LaVon Fisher-Wilson Tom Hewitt, a frequent presence in the Tony Award-winning revival of Chicago, will return to the production at the Ambassador Theatre Nov. 22 as slick lawyer Billy Flynn.

Hewitt succeeds Brent Barrett, who will play his final performance Nov. 21.

In other Chicago news, Robert Creighton (The Lion King, The Little Mermaid, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang) will make his debut as put-upon husband Amos Hart Nov. 29. That same day, LaVon Fisher-Wilson (The Color Purple) returns as Matron "Mama" Morton.

Creighton and Fisher-Wilson will succeed Raymond Bokhour and Roz Ryan, respectively, both of whom play their final performances Nov. 28.

The company currently boasts Tony nominee Charlotte d'Amboise as Roxie Hart, Leigh Zimmerman as Velma Kelly, Brent Barrett as Billy Flynn, Raymond Bokhour as Amos Hart and Roz Ryan as Matron "Mama" Morton.

Tom Hewitt's other Broadway credits include Dracula, The Musical; The Boys from Syracuse; The Lion King; School for Scandal; and The Sisters Rosenzweig. He also appeared in the national tours of Urinetown and Dirty Rotten Scoundrels and has been seen Off-Broadway in Jeffrey, Beau Jest, Richard III and Othello.

The revival of Chicago began life as one of the three annual Encores! presentations offered by City Center. The musical opened on Broadway at the Richard Rodgers Theatre in Nov. 1996 where it remained through Feb. 1997. The musical transferred to the Shubert Theatre on Feb. 11, 1997, and played that house through Jan. 26, 2003. The revival reopened at the Ambassador Theatre, its current home, on Jan. 29, 2003.

Chicago won the Tony Award for Best Revival of a Musical in 1997 as well as awards for actors Bebe Neuwirth and James Naughton, director Walter Bobbie, lighting designer Ken Billington and choreographer Ann Reinking. The original production was directed and choreographed by the late Bob Fosse.
