News   Chicago's Griffin Theatre To Stage Adaptation of Hitchcock's "The Birds"

Chicago's Griffin Theatre Company will present Conor McPherson's The Birds, adapted from Daphne du Maurier's short story, which was the basis for the classic Alfred Hitchcock film.

Performances will run June 6-July 19 at the Theater Wit.

In The Birds, mysterious masses of wild birds begin to violently attack humans for unknown reasons, causing a group of strangers to take refuge in an abandoned house and try to figure out how they might survice the situation.

McPherson's adaptation premiered at Dublin's Gate Theatre in 2009 and played at the Guthrie Theater in 2012.
