LOS ANGELES -- Tickets for the American premiere of Adventure in Motion Pictures' production of Mathew Bourne's Cinderella are now on sale at the Ahmanson Theatre. Cinderella opens April 7, 1999 and plays through May 23.
This exclusive U.S. engagement reunites the creators of the multi-award winning Swan Lake, presented at the Ahmanson in 1997, where it was awarded the L.A. Drama Critics Circle Award for Bourne's choreography, and currently enjoying rave reviews and sold-out houses on Broadway.
The ballet tells the classic story of a young girl, her jealous stepmother, rival siblings and a guardian angel.
The score is by Sergei Prokofiev, with set and costumes by Lez Brotherstone, lighting by Rick Fisher. Produced by Katharine Dore, Cinderella will feature Adrian Cooper (the sensation of Swan Lake ), Scott Ambler, William Kemp, Isabel Mortimer, Emily Piercy, Arthur Pita, Ewan Wardrop, Ben Wright and a company of thirty dancer-actors.
