The energy of The Deborah Colker Dance Company makes a welcome return to Sao Paulo with their new musical "Route" (Rota). Regarded as one of the most famous Brazilian dance companies DCDC had its origins in Rio de Janeiro. This musical written and led by Deborah Colker, opened at The Sergio Cardoso Theatre - Sergio Cardoso Room, on October 30, and closes on Nov. 30,1997.

The first act was inspired by audacious and dare-devil teenage adventures. Supported by a Schubert and Mozart soundtrack, the company also exhibit delightful moments of fastness and strength in playful scenes.

The second act explores the gravitional force exerted by celestial bodies and the scientific theories of Leonardo da Vinci and Isaac Newton. Hanging on to a rotating big-wheel, the dancers turn the stage into a real fairground. To the sound of the Strauss waltz "Tales From the Vienna Woods" they perform numbers of equilibrium and lightness.

According to choreographer and director Deborah Colker this musical will thrill the audience its radical but thrilling routines. As with their earlier musicals "Volcano" (Vulcao), "Mix" and "Speed" (Velox), the dancers face amazing but genuinely risky situations on stage. Gringo Cardia is responsible for the Scenery Design.
