As previously announced, Montego Glover, recently seen as Lorrell in the Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera's production of Dreamgirls, will star in the title role with Brad Anderson — of The Boy From Oz fame — as her love interest, Radames. Former Seussical star Janine LaManna will complete the love triangle as Amneris, and John Schiappa, recently seen on Broadway in Assassins, will play Zoser.
The foursome will be joined by a company that includes Derrick Baskin, James Bodge, J. Bernard Calloway, Edward M. Barker, Lori Ann Ferreri, Marie France Arcilla, Mindy Haywood, John Hoffman, David Gilleo, David Garcia, Michelle Mamolejo, Darius Nichols, Krystle Pyram, John Schiappa, Q. Smith, Cullen Titmas and Todd Underwood. The production will also feature five local young actors: Breanna Bradlee (Lynn), Tory Bradlee (Lynn), Nicholas Christopher (Winchester), Joshua David Fales (Middleton) and Jaclyn Sabogal (Peabody).
The North Shore is one of the first regional theatres in the country granted the rights to produce the Disney hit, which recently ended its run at Broadway's Palace Theatre Sept. 5. Directed by Stafford Arima with choreography by Patricia Wilcox, Aida will be a "completely original production of the current Broadway show" and will run Oct. 26-Nov. 21.
The creative team for the Massachusetts production comprises Patricia Wilcox (choreography), Andrew Graham (music director), Bill Stabile (scenic designer), Randall Klein (costume designer), Kirk Bookman (lighting designer), Gerard Kelly (wig and hair designer), John A. Stone (sound designer), Erik E. Hedblom (production stage manager) and Matt Schreiber (casting).
