National Tour News Complete Casting Announced for National Tour of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Noah Weisberg will star as Willy Wonka in the tour that launches September 21 in Buffalo, New York.

Complete casting has been announced for the national tour of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, which launches September 21 in Buffalo, New York, at Shea's Performing Arts Center.

Joining the previously announced Noah Weisberg as Willy Wonka, and young actors Henry Boshart, Collin Jeffery, and Rueby Wood as Charlie, will be James Young as Grandpa Joe, Amanda Rose as Mrs. Bucket, Jessica Cohen as Veruca Salt, Madeleine Doherty as Mrs. Teavee, Kathy Fitzgerald as Mrs. Gloop, Nathaniel Hackmann as Mr. Salt, Daniel Quadrino as Mike Teavee, David Samuel as Mr. Beauregarde, Brynn Williamsas Violet Beauregarde, Matt Wood as Augustus Gloop.

The 36-member cast also includes Sarah Bowden, Elijah Dillehay, Alex Dreschke, Jess Fry, David R. Gordon, Chavon Hampton, Sabrina Harper, Benjamin Howes, Karen Hyland, Lily Kaufmann, David Paul Kidder, Jennifer Jill Malenke, Joe Moeller, Tanisha Moore, Claire Neumann, Caylie Rose Newcom, Joel Newsome, Kevin Nietzel, Kristin Piro, Clyde Voce, Armando Yearwood Jr., and Borris Anthony York.

The Broadway production of Roald Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory played its final performance January 14. The new musical, which officially opened April 23, 2017, played 27 previews and 305 regular performances at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre (205 West 46th Street).

With direction by three-time Tony Award winner Jack O’Brien, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory features music by Grammy, Emmy, and Tony winner Marc Shaiman, lyrics by Grammy and Tony winners Scott Wittman and Shaiman, a book by David Greig, choreography by Tony nominee and Emmy winner Joshua Bergasse, and additional songs by Leslie Bricusse and Anthony Newley from the 1971 Warner Bros. motion picture.

The production also features scenic and costume design by Mark Thompson, lighting design by Japhy Weideman, sound design by Andrew Keister, puppet design by Basil Twist, projection design by Jeff Sugg, orchestrations by Doug Besterman, and music direction and supervision by Nicholas Skilbeck.
