Gina Gershon, Cabaret's Sally Bowles, appears tonight (Feb. 7) on NBC's "The Late Show with Conan O’Brien."
As reported earlier, Gina Gershon (Sally Bowles), Matthew Greer (Clifford Bradshaw) and Peter Benson (Ernst Ludwig) joined the cast of Roundabout's hit revival of the Kander and Ebb musical Cabaret on Jan. 19. Gershon is a founding member of Naked Angels theatre company in New York City.
Gina Gershon assumed the role of the decadent nightclub singer who is blithely unaware of the corruption around her. She has performed in Jon Robin Baitz's The Substance of Fire at the Long Wharf Theatre, William Mastrosimone's Nanawatai at the Los Angeles Theatre Center, and recently in Eve Ensler's The Vagina Monologues. Her film appearances include "The Insider," "Showgirls," "Bound" and "Face/Off," and TV's short-lived "Snoops."
The Sam Mendes-Rob Marshall production of the musical by John Kander, Fred Ebb and Joe Masteroff is set in pre-World War II Berlin, and continues at Studio 54. Cabaret opened on Broadway March 19, 1998 and won four 1998 Tony Awards, including Best Revival of a Musical.
Gershon, Greer and Benson joined fellow cast members Matt McGrath (Emcee), Dick Latessa (Herr Schultz), Carole Shelley (Fraulein Schneider) and Candy Buckley (Fraulein Kost). Tickets range from $45 - $90. Studio 54 is at 254 W. 54 St. For ticket information, call (212) 239 6200.
