Ivor Bolton will remain the chief conductor of the Salzburg Mozarteum Orchestra until 2012, reports the Austrian newspaper Der Standard.

During the three-year extension of his current contract, Bolton will lead the orchestra ten weeks out of the year; his previous contract saw him conducting 13 weeks annually.

In addition, he will no longer be required to conduct opera productions in the Salzburger Landestheater.
