From Dec. 6-18, the singer-actor will offer Coup de Graae! — billed as an evening of music and comedy — at Helen's Hideaway Room on Eighth Avenue. The evening features songs and stories about Rodgers and Hart, Jerry Herman and Marilyn and Alan Bergman. Graae, according to production notes, "also salutes his lucrative voice over career as the heart and soul of Western Union Moneygrams." Jason Graae starred on Broadway in A Grand Night for Singing, Falsettos, Stardust and Do Black Patent Leather Shoes Really Reflect Up?, and appeared in the Hollywood Bowl concert version of The Music Man as Marcellus Washburn. His Off-Broadway credits include roles in Forever Plaid; Hello Muddah, Hello Fadduh; Olympus On My Mind; and All in the Timing. Graae also starred in the Reprise! concerts of Of Thee I Sing!, Anything Goes and The Boys from Syracuse.
Coup de Graae! will play Monday and Thursday-Saturday evenings at The Hideaway Room at Helen's, 169 Eighth Avenue (between 18th and 19th Streets); show time is 7 PM. There is a $25 cover and a two-drink minimum for all shows; call (212) 206-0609 for reservations.
