Scenic Routes, a new play by Joseph Guindi, will be presented as a staged reading Feb. 23 at 7 PM at CAP 21 in NY. The director is Michelle Macau.

Scenic Routes examines the relationship of a a young couple -- he's from the Middle East and she's from the U.S. -- and the "benign" cultural chasms that present obstacles to them.

The event, co-sponsored by Stage Directors and Choreographers Foundation and the Collaborative Arts Project 21, is part of an ongoing series. Upcoming readings include King Mas, a calypso adaptation of Oedipus the King by Michael Rodgers, Mar. 9; A Show of Hands, a musical by Frumi Cohen, Mar. 23; Hurrah, We're in America! based on the short stories of Sholom Aleichem, April 13; and Shards of the Alien, a mystery by William Werner, April 27.
