News Cynthia Nixon and Saoirse Ronan Will Star in Film Adaptation of Nikole Beckwith's Stockholm, Pennsylvania Tony Award winner Cynthia Nixon will star opposite Saoirse Ronan in "Stockholm, Pennsylvania," written and to be directed by Nikole Beckwith, according to Deadline.com.

The project, set to begin production next week in Los Angeles, is adapted from Beckwith's play of the same name, which was seen in June 2011 as part of The Public Theater's Spotlight Series, a showcase of new plays by members of its Emerging Writers Group. Nixon will play the mother to Ronan's character, Leia, who was raised by a kidnapper and is now struggling to acclimate to her actual parents after 20 years of separation. Also in the cast are Jason Isaacs and David Warshofsky.

Nixon, who received the 2006 Tony Award for her performance in Rabbit Hole, was also Tony-nominated for Wit and Indiscretions. She has also been seen on Broadway in The Women, The Last Night of Ballyhoo, Angels in America, The Heidi Chronicles, Hurlyburly, The Real Thing and The Philadelphia Story.

Greg Ammon will produce through Fido Features in association with Olympus Pictures' Leslie Urdang and Dan Halsted.
