PlayBlog Cynthia Nixon to Appear With Laura Linney in Showtime's "The Big C" Tony and Emmy Award winner Cynthia Nixon will be a recurring guest on the Showtime series "The Big C," according to published reports.


Nixon will appear in four episodes of the upcoming show as Rebecca, who unexpectedly reappears in the life of her college roommate, Cathy (Tony nominee Laura Linney), a terminal cancer patient trying to rebuild her life.

Nixon, who has survived breast cancer herself, is perhaps best-known for her role as Miranda in the HBO series “Sex and the City” and its two film sequels. She won a Tony Award for her role as a grieving mother in David Lindsay-Abaire’s Rabbit Hole. Other stage credits include Distracted, The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie, The Women and Indiscretions (Tony nomination).

“The Big C” will premiere Aug. 16 at 10:30 PM ET on Showtime.
