Keith Roberts, an American Ballet Theatre dancer who made his Broadway debut in Matthew Bourne's Swan Lake, is now strutting to a different beat in Broadway's Fosse.
Roberts' first return performance with the company of the Tony Award winning revue was April 11, and he'll stick with the troupe through the summer. He previously danced the part Jan. 18-Feb. 13.
Roberts performs the role originated by Desmond Richardson. He dances "Percussion 4," "Cool Hand Luke," "Mr. Bojangles" (The Spirit) and ensemble pieces, including "Take Off With Us -- Three Pas De Deux" at the Broadhurst Theatre. The revue of dances and numbers staged by director choreographer Bob Fosse won the 1999 Best Musical Tony Award.
Roberts replaced Adam Cooper as The Swan in Swan Lake in 1998 99 and has worked with choreographers Twyla Tharp and Lar Lubovitch, among others.
