It will be staged in December 2011 at Sheffield's Crucible Theatre, the U.K. regional theatre where Evans is artistic director.

The production will be directed by Jonathan Munby and designed by Christopher Oram.

In addition to Sunday in the Park with George, Evans has also appeared in Sondheim's Merrily We Roll Along at the Donmar Warehouse; he won the Olivier Award for Best Actor in a Musical for both performances.

Munby was last represented in London by his production of The Prince of Homburg at the Donmar Warehouse. Other credits include being nominated for a Helen Hayes Award as Outstanding Director for The Dog in the Manger at the Shakespeare Theatre Company, Washington, DC.

Oram won the Tony Award for Best Design of a Play for Red on Broadway this year, and is currently represented at the Donmar Warehouse by his designs for Sondheim's Passion.
