News Daniel Radcliffe in Negotiations for for "Grand Theft Auto" Film Daniel Radcliffe, the "Harry Potter" star who made his Broadway debut in a revival of Equus, is currently in negotiations to star in the new BBC Films production "Grand Theft Auto," according to the Hollywood Reporter.

The film, which is described as "a true-life account of a fight between the creator of Grand Theft Auto and a Miami lawyer who wanted to ban video game violence," would cast Radcliffe as Sam Houser, the president and co-founder of the video game company Rockstar Games.

Owen Harris will direct. The film, which is based on David Kushner's book "Jacked: The Outlaw Story of Grand Theft Auto," features a screenplay by James Wood.

Shooting is expected to begin April 20. Jim Spencer will produce with Mark Hedgecoe as executive producer.

Radcliffe has also been seen on Broadway in How to Succeed in Business without Really Trying and The Cripple of Inishmaan.
