It will be directed and choreographed by Gillian Lynne, whose previous credits include choreography for the original productions of Cats and The Phantom of the Opera, both of which she was Tony nominated for; her work has also been seen on Broadway in The Roar of the Greasepaint - the Smell of the Crowd, Pickwick, How Now Dow Jones, Aspects of Love and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

The musical, which is based on "The Madwoman of Chaillot" by Jean Giraudoux, as adapted by Maurice Valency, has a book by Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee, and is presented in a new version by David Thompson. It is produced by Charing Cross Theatre.

Sets will be designed by Matt Kinley, with costumes by Ann Hould-Ward, and lighting by Mike Robertson.  Orchestrations will be by Sarah Travis, with Ian Townsend as the musical director.

Dear World originally premiered on Broadway in 1969 starring Angela Lansbury and Milo O'Shea; according to press materials, this will be the first production ever to be staged outside of the United States.

Set in post-war Paris in 1945, this musical fable of Good versus Evil is a tale for our times, with only a madwoman and her odd collection of acquaintances to save the city from corporate greed.
