It will be boys night at Birdland April 12 when a host of Broadway's leading men join composer Scott Alan during his one-night-only concert. Newly announced for the 7 PM performance are David Burtka (Gypsy) and RJ Helton (first season "American Idol" finalist).

Presented by Jim Caruso's Cast Party, the evening of Alan's music will also feature the previously announced Darius de Haas (Rent), Bobby Steggert (Ragtime), Josh Lamon (Hair), Hunter Ryan Herdlicka (A Little Night Music), Nicholas Rodriguez (Tarzan), Grasan Kingsberry (Finian's Rainbow), Matt Doyle (Bye Bye Birdie), Michael Seelbach (Wicked), Jay A. Johnson (Hair), The Broadway Boys and Brandon Webman.

Alan, who will accompany the performers at the piano, will also perform some of his own material. Cabaretgoers can expect to hear tunes from Alan's recordings "Dreaming Wide Awake" and "Keys" as well as songs from his upcoming recording, "What I Wanna Be When I Grow Up."

Scott Alan wrote the book, music and lyrics for the musical Detour, which was seen in Los Angeles. His current theatre projects include Piece, which was featured at the 2003 Palo Alto TheatreWorks festival, the 2005 NAMT festival and the 2007 Festival of New Musicals at Village Theatre; and the song cycle The Warmth of the Womb. He also produces the monthly Monday Nights, New Voices concert at the Duplex. Alan's music is available on his website, scottalan.net, and at iTunes.
