News D.C.-Area Actor Attacked and Robbed Following Opening Night of The Last Days of Judas Iscariot Frank Britton, who plays the role of Pontius Pilate in the The Last Days of Judas Iscariot at the Roundhouse Theatre in Silver Spring, was attacked and robbed following the May 26 opening-night performance of the show, according to ABC7's Washington network, WJLA.

The actor, one of the last to leave the show's opening-night cast party, was beaten and robbed of his iPhone, iPad and wallet as he was attempting to hail a cab on Colesville Road around 1:45 AM on May 27.

Montgomery County police confirmed that he was attacked by four unknown men and sustained multiple injuries to his face and head, including a broken cheekbone. The performer underwent surgery at Holy Cross Hospital May 27. Montgomery County Police continue to investigate.

Friends and Judas Iscariot co-stars immediately began a Frank Britton Recovery Fund at GoFundMe.com to raise money for his medical bills. The initial goal was to raise $3,000; the fund currently stands at $38,460 raised. A Facebook page has also been created.

"With the outpouring of support and the love from my friends, strangers even, it's been really overwhelming and amazing," Britton told WJLA. "Will this experience come back to haunt me at some time down the line? I'm sure. But for now, I'm about moving forward from it… I'm not going to wallow back in this. No, no, no. I have a show to do."
