The evening of disco-inspired Broadway show tunes benefits Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. On the Town's Lea DeLaria hosts the one-night-only event, which is directed by Michael LoPorto with choreography by Geoffrey Doig-Marx. The concert also features set design by Stephen K. Dobay, lighting design by Ryan Metzler, sound design by Kate Foretek, costume design by Marc Eardley and musical supervision by Charles Czarnecki.
The evening at the 1,400 seat venue boasts the talents of Kirsten Bracken (Hairspray), Justin Keyes (The Apple Tree), Ryan Knowles (Disney's Aladdin), Heather Parcells (A Chorus Line), Patina Renea-Miller (Hair), Josh Rouah (Grease) and Louise Stewart (Hedwig and The Angry Inch) with Michael McArthur, Jarod Neelan, Adam Gold, Jere Hunt, Christine Keneally, Patricia Arenson, Jenna Liberati, Jessica Burns, Chris Crowthers, Stephanie Laughlin, Matthew Wagner, Alexandra Smith, Lizzie Snyder and Caitlin Krause.
Attendees can expect to hear such tunes as Two Gentlemen of Verona's "Love's Revenge," Purlie's "I Got Love," The Magic Show's "West End Avenue," Dreamgirls' "One Night Only," Gentlemen Prefer Blondes' "Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend," The Wiz's "Don't Nobody Bring Me No Bad News" and The Rocky Horror Picture Show's "Hot Patootie (Bless My Soul)," among others.
Marc Eardley, producing artistic director of 3STC, said in a statement, "We're thrilled so many talented people are taking time out of their schedules to rock out in Jersey for us. We want as many people to come see this as possible and not be afraid to cross the Hudson. It's a great theatre, a great show with great people and it's only a 10 minute PATH ride. We think people are going to be shocked and pleasantly surprised when they see what we've cooked up. Some surprise songs that no-one will be expecting with big flashy production numbers, what more could you ask for?"
