News Denise Whelan Will Be Norma Desmond in Fulton Theatre's Sunset Boulevard Denise Whelan, who starred in the Walnut Theatre Company's production of Aspects of Love, will don the turban of Norma Desmond in the Fulton Theatre's upcoming production of Andrew Lloyd Webber's Sunset Boulevard.

Directed and choreographed by Marc Robin, the production will play the Pennsylvania venue March 14-April 1.

The cast will also feature Curt Dale Clark as Joe Gillis, David Girolmo as Max von Mayerling, Randall Frizado, Joel Hatch, Charis Leos, Bruce Rebold, Amanda Rose, Katie Sina, Eric Stephenson and Will Ray.

"Aging actress Norma Desmond attempts a bold return to the big screen in this musical adaptation of the classic film," according to production notes. "While her glamour has faded, her unfulfilled ambition has not. When she meets a struggling Hollywood screen-writer, Norma seizes the opportunity to restore her long-dormant career to its former glory."

The creative team also includes stage manager Mark Johnson, set designer Robert Kovach and music director Ray Fellman with costumes based on the original designs by Anthony Powell.

Sunset features a score by Andrew Lloyd Webber with book and lyrics by Don Black and Christopher Hampton.
