News   Dennehy, Leigh, Beale, Mary Poppins and Billy Elliot Receive 2005 Evening Standard Noms The 51st annual Evening Standard Award nominations were were announced on Nov. 9 in London, with nods going to such artists as Mike Leigh, Brian Dennehy, Derek Jacobi, Simon Russell Beale and Kristin Scott Thomas.

Two Thousand Years by Mike Leigh, Bloody Sunday by Richard Norton-Taylor, Harvest by Richard Bean
and The Home Place by Brian Friel will compete for the Best Play prize. Nominated for Best Musical are The Big Life, Billy Elliot and Mary Poppins.
