Weiss is among the directors nominated for the DGA Award for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in
Musical Variety for 2012, and Hooper is among the directors nominated for the DGA Award for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Feature Film for 2012. 

Also nominated for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in
 Musical Variety are Michael Dempsey for "12-12-12: The Concert for Sandy Relief," Don Roy King for "Saturday Night Live With Host Mick Jagger," Don Mischer for the 84th Annual Academy Awards and Chuck O'Neil for "The Daily Show With Jon Stewart."

Other notable nominees for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Television and Commercials include Greg Mottola for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in
 Dramatic Series for the episode of "The Newsroom" entitled "We Just Decided To"; Louis C.K. for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in 
Comedy Series for the "Louie" episode "New Year's Eve"; Bryan Cranston for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in
 Comedy Series for the "Modern Family" episode "Election Day"; and Lena Dunham for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in 
Comedy Series the pilot of "Girls."

The other nominees for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Feature Film are Steven Spielberg for "Lincoln," the Dreamworks film that features a screenplay from Pulitzer Prize winner Tony Kushner; Ben Affleck for "Argo"; Kathryn Bigelow for "Zero Dark Thirty"; and Ang Lee for "Life of Pi."

This is Hooper's second DGA Feature Film Award nomination. He won the DGA Award for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Feature Film for "The King's Speech" (2010) and was previously nominated for the DGA Award for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Movies for Television/Mini-Series for "John Adams" in 2008.
