The theatre chat show will feature interviews with Disney Theatrical President Thomas Schumacher and I Am My Own Wife playwright, Doug Wright, and director, Moises Kaufman. Schumacher will discuss Disney's theatrical work, which includes the Broadway hits Beauty and the Beast, Aida and The Lion King, as well as the company's upcoming stage project, Mary Poppins. The latter, based on the acclaimed film of the same name, is a co-production with veteran producer Cameron Mackintosh.
Wright and Kaufman will chat about their hit play, which explores the life of transvestite Charlotte Von Mahlsdorf, who survived both the Nazi and Communist regimes. I Am My Own Wife stars Jefferson Mays and plays the Lyceum Theatre, 149 West 45th Street.
Hosted by New York Post theatre columnist Michael Riedel and producer Susan Haskins, "Theatre Talk" airs late Friday nights at midnight on WNET/Thirteen.
