News DIVA ALERT: Betty by Request March 20! As a special bonus to her legion of fans, Betty Buckley is inviting all her on-line buddies and other friends to attend her late show this Thursday evening at Maxim's (62nd Street and Madison Avenue, NYC). During this show, Buckley will sing your requests from her eclectic repertoire, including songs she has performed onstage in Cats, Sunset Boulevard and Song and Dance. It's a great chance to hear the Tony Award-winning actress perform her terrific renditions of "With One Look," "Meadowlark," "Memory" and "Unexpected Song." And, if you've never heard Buckley perform your favorite song of hers live perhaps "Gaviola" or her intense rendition of "Wind Beneath My Wings" here's the perfect opportunity.

For the other six shows of her Maxim's run, Buckley has prepared an entirely new set of songs, and she has titled the collection "Songs of Innocence and Experience." Having just returned from her critically acclaimed three months on the road with Andrew Lloyd Webber's Music of the Night, Buckley is anxious to present this new set of tunes. "I felt that it was time to perform all new material to keep things fresh and alive," remarked Buckley. "It's a group of songs that I've never sung before, songs that I've wanted to sing for a long time. It's also a good chance to try out material for my next album." Buckley's forthcoming album, which will be recorded in the summer, is slated for a fall release on Sterling Records, her fifth album on the Sterling label.

Buckley will sing in the elegant room of Maxim's from Wednesday, March 19 through Saturday, March 22, with one show on Wednesday evening at 9 PM and two shows on Thursday and Friday night, at 9 and 11:30 PM. Saturday show times will be 8 and 10:15 PM.

And another highlight: When Betty is performing in a musical, one request she always asks of her backstage visitors is to sign her guestbook, and all of her fans are invited to sign her guestbook during her four-day stint at Maxim's.

Be sure to catch BB in concert. As the Fort Worth Star-Telegram's Perry Stewart wrote, "Buckley in concert is an intoxicating blend of pop, jazz, blues and the Broadway of then and now, embraced by an astonishing vocal instrument and enhanced by a savvy blend of acting and heart."
