LINDA EDER
Of all the musical theatre performers to debut on Broadway this season, the most exciting singer of the group has got to be Linda Eder, whose Streisandesque tones are delighting fans each night in Jekyll & Hyde. Eder has already appeared on many television programs, including "The David Letterman Show," "Live with Regis & Kathie Lee," "The Rosie O'Donnell Show," and this past weekend she was the subject of an interview on "Entertainment Tonight." Tonight Eder will add to that list when she guests on the "RuPaul Show," which airs on the cable station VH1 at 11 PM (ET). Check local cable listings for times elsewhere. Eder is scheduled to sing, so be sure to set your VCRs.
And, as reported in the June 27 column, Eder is set to perform her concert act at New York City's Supper Club on Thursday, July 17. Eder will sing, backed by her usual combo plus a horns section, and tickets are on sale through Ticketmaster or by calling the Roseland box office at (212) 307 7171. For those of you who have never heard Eder's trumpeting sound, you might want to pick up a copy of one of the two J & H concept recordings or Eder's newest solo album, It's Time, on the Atlantic Records label.
That's all for now. Happy diva-watching!
