One of our loyal diva watchers sent an article that appeared on Monday on the Entertainment Wire. According to this piece, Richard Cook, president of Buena Vista Pictures Distribution and Marketing, announced that a 1 and 3/4 minute trailer from the upcoming film of Evita will be available by satellite and to news and entertainment programs today, July 31.

Cook announced, "We are very excited to be bringing this first-look at Evita to the widest possible audience and feel that this unprecedented satellite transmission is a terrific way to accommodate the enormous interest the film has generated."

The upcoming movie, which is scheduled for a December release, stars Madonna as Evita, the role that catapulted both Patti LuPone (in New York) and Elaine Paige (in London) to stardom.

The film, which was produced by Robert Stigwood, Alan Parker and Andrew G. Vajna, also stars Antonio Banderas and Jonathan Pryce. And the score, of course, is by Andrew Lloyd Webber (music) and Tim Rice (lyrics).

So, be sure to check your local news programs and other entertainment shows to get an advance look at Evita. That's all for now. Happy diva-watching!
