Tony winner Donna McKechnie will make an appearance at New York's Footlight Records on Saturday, May 18.
McKechnie will autograph copies of her new solo CD, "Inside the Music," from 3 to 5 PM at the famed N.Y.C. music store at 113 East 12th Street. Recorded live in front of an invited audience, McKechnie's recording features tunes from her award-winning career as well as a few tunes new to the singer-actress-dancer.
Best known for her Tony-winning performance as Cassie in the original Broadway production of A Chorus Line, Donna McKechnie has appeared in a plethora of musicals both on and Off-Broadway, some of which include How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, Company, State Fair, Can-Can, Annie Get Your Gun, I’m Getting My Act Together and Taking It On the Road, State Fair and Promises, Promises. In her one woman musical celebration, "Inside the Music," McKechnie performs songs from several of these productions and offers personal anecdotes about her experiences with some of the theatre’s finest actors, directors, producers and writers. The intimate portrait of McKechnie’s musical journey, which was written by Christopher Durang and directed by Thommie Walsh, includes such tunes as "Everybody Says Don't," "Where Do You Start?," "Lies of Handsome Men" and "The Music and the Mirror."
