SAN DIEGO -- San Diego Rep has announced the cast of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol, opening Dec. 4 for a 3-week run.
Jonathan McMurty, who won twenty-eight Drama-Logue Awards last year for his performance in the Rep's Uncle Vanya, will play Ebenezer Scrooge. Other cast members include Karole Foreman, Doug Roberts, Rosina Reynolds, Lamont Thompson, Ron Choularten, Edit [sic] Villarreal, Myra McWethy, Manuel J. Fernandez, Marc Brinton Cilurzo, Kamrie Littlefield and Kyle Nageotte.
The Rep has produced the Dickens classic annually for the past quarter of a century. Sean Murray directs.
The Rep also announced that Edit Villareal's comedy Marriage is Forever, will have its world premiere in the spring of 1999. The play was one of eleven commissioned through the Latino Theatre Initiative of the Mark Taper Forum.
