News Drowsy Chaperone's Worley and Glover Featured at "Broadway in Bryant Park" July 19 Jo Anne Worley and John Glover — from the New York production of The Drowsy Chaperone — as well as cast members from Avenue Q, The Phantom of the Opera and Rent will perform at "Broadway in Bryant Park" July 19.

Radio station 106.7 FM presents the summer series at the midtown park featuring stars of current and upcoming musicals — on Broadway and Off-Broadway — performing show tunes. The series, which began July 12 and continues every Thursday, plays from 12:30 PM to approximately 1:45 PM. There is also a special Friday performance Aug. 10 to close the season.

Among the performers lined up for this week are The Drowsy Chaperone's Jo Anne Worley and John Glover, The Phantom of the Opera's Jason Mills, Jennifer Hope Wills and James Romick, Rent's Christopher J. Hanke, Kyle Post, Telly Leung, Marcus Paul James, Crystal Monee Hall, Nicolette Hart and Maia Nkenge Wilson as well as current stars of Avenue Q.

This sixth annual summertime series line-up (subject to change) follows:

  • July 19: Avenue Q, The Drowsy Chaperone, The Phantom of the Opera, Rent
  • July 26: Xanadu, Monty Python's Spamalot, The Lion King, Curtains, Stomp
  • Aug. 2: Les Misérables, Mary Poppins, Hairspray
  • Aug. 9: The Fantasticks, The Color Purple, Spring Awakening, Wicked
  • Aug. 10: Altar Boyz, Chicago, Legally Blonde

    Previously announced performances by Tarzan and Grey Gardens were canceled; Tarzan is now closed, and Gardens will end its run July 29. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis at Bryant Park, located just behind the New York Public Library on Sixth Avenue between 40th and 42nd Streets.
