News Earle Hyman and Wendell Pierce to Star in Cherry Orchard Off Broadway Feb. 3-27 Earle Hyman and Wendell Pierce will star in a new Classical Theatre of Harlem production of The Cherry Orchard, Feb 3-27.

Christopher McElroen has adapted the plaintive Chekhov comedy and will direct. Also in the cast Vinie Burrows, Petronia Paley, Charles Turner, Roslyn Ruff, Darian Dauchan, Carolyn Ratteray, J. Kyle Manzay, George Hosmer and Chandra Thomas. Hyman, a stage veteran, is well known to television audience from "The Cosby Show." His Broadway debut was in the 1946 hit Anna Lucasta. He has since starred on Broadway in such plays as Execution of Justice, No Time for Sergeants and The Lady from Dubuque. He won his only Tony nomination for the latter. His most recent Broadway credit was the National Actors Theatre's The Master Builder, in which he played the title character of Solness. Off-Broadway, he was James Tyrone in a famous 1981 Public Theater staging of Long Day's Journey Into Night. He has also appeared in the West End and frequently in Scandinavia.

Pierce starring in the recent HBO series "The Wire." Broadway credits include The Boys of Winter and Serious Money.
