News Eddy Awards Honor Excellence in Entertainment Design and Technology, Dec. 8 Entertainment Design Magazine (ED) honors several entertainment professionals for excellence in design and technology at the 2000 Eddy Awards in New York City today, Dec. 8. Honoring “outstanding contributions in the field of entertainment design and technology,” ED’s awards will be presented in conjunction with the Eighth Annual Broadway Lighting Master Classes running at Fordham University from Dec. 6-10.

Entertainment Design Magazine (ED) honors several entertainment professionals for excellence in design and technology at the 2000 Eddy Awards in New York City today, Dec. 8. Honoring “outstanding contributions in the field of entertainment design and technology,” ED’s awards will be presented in conjunction with the Eighth Annual Broadway Lighting Master Classes running at Fordham University from Dec. 6-10.

The ED awards—sponsored by Entertainment Design and Lighting Dimensions magazines— take place Dec. 8 at 8:30 PM in New York City. The awards will be presented at the AMC Empire 25 Theatres located on 42nd St. at Times Square.

As reported earlier, the honorees at the event include the following design and technical professionals:

• The design team for Blue Man Group Live at Luxor (Las Vegas) including original Blue Man creators Matt Goldman, Phil Stanton and Chris Wink, set designer David Gallo, set designer Lauren Helpern, video designer Caryl Glaab, associate video designer Kevin Frech, lighting designer Matt McCarthy, associate lighting designer Marc Janowitz, sound designer Todd Perlmutter, sound designer Ross Humphrey, costume designer Patricia Murphy, associate costume designer Chase Tyler and Zoetrope designer Scott Fisher.

• Theatre and film costume designer Ann Roth (MTC’s The Tale of the Allergist's Wife, “The Talented Mr. Ripley,” “The English Patient” and the upcoming “Finding Forrester.”) • Anne Bogart's SITI Company design team comprising including lighting designer Mimi Jordan Sherin, sound designer Darron L. West, set designer Neil Patel, and costume designer James Schuette whose credits include the Next Wave Festival at BAM in “War of the Worlds,” conceived and directed by Anne Bogart and written by Naomi Iizuka.

• Concert-tour set builders Tait Towers (Rolling Stones, Tina Turner, U2, Kiss, Reba McEntire, 'N Sync, Britney Spears and others.)

The schedule for ED’s award ceremony stars with a Products of the Century panel from 6 - 7:30 PM; a cocktail party from 7:30 - 8:30 PM, followed by the awards presentation at 8:30.
