Variety reports that Tony winner Schreiber (Radio Golf, Glengarry Glen Ross) will star opposite Academy Award-winning actress Jolie ("Girl, Interrupted," "The Changeling") in the new film, which was penned by Kurt Wimmer.
In "Salt" Jolie will play Evelyn Salt, "a CIA officer who is fingered as a Russian sleeper spy." Schreiber will star as her friend and mentor at the CIA.
Ejiofor, who appeared in the David Mamet contemporary-set samurai film "Red Belt," will portray a young CIA agent working for Schreiber's character.
Phillip Noyce will direct the film, which begins shooting in New York City next month. "Salt" is produced by Lorenzo di Bonaventura, Sunil Perkash, Ric Kidney and Mark Vahradian.
