News Elaine Stritch Joins "A Broadway Celebration" at the White House July 19 Tony Award-winning actress Elaine Stritch, who currently stars in the Broadway revival of A Little Night Music, has been added to the lineup of performers set to entertain President Barack Obama and First Lady Michele Obama in "A Broadway Celebration: In Performance at the White House" this evening.

Stritch joins a line-up that includes the previously announced Nathan Lane (Guys & Dolls, The Addams Family), Audra McDonald (Ragtime, Master Class), Tonya Pinkins (Caroline, or Change, Jelly's Last Jam), Marvin Hamlisch (A Chorus Line, Sweet Smell of Success), Idina Menzel (Wicked), Brian d'Arcy James (Next to Normal), Chad Kimball (Memphis) and Karen Olivo (West Side Story). Also added to the evening are Hairspray cast members Constantine Rousouli and Danielle Arci.

Tony Award-winning director George C. Wolfe will stage the 7 PM concert that will be streamed live at WhiteHouse.gov/live and will also be recorded for broadcast on PBS Oct. 20.

"A Broadway Celebration: In Performance at the White House" will air on PBS at 9 PM on Oct. 20. The 60-minute concert is produced by WETA Washington, D.C., in association with Margo Lion, Ltd. and 101 Productions.

Stritch received Tony and Emmy Awards for Elaine Stritch at Liberty, which traces a stellar career, which includes roles in composer-lyricist Stephen Sondheim's Company plus The Little Foxes, Bus Stop, A Delicate Balance, Sail Away and Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? She currently co-stars as Madame Armfeldt opposite Bernadette Peters in the Tony-nominated Broadway revival of Sondheim and Hugh Wheeler's A Little Night Music.
