Stritch, according to the venue's website, will star in The Lighter Side of Tennessee Williams Oct. 8 at 8 PM.

The evening, according to SOPAC, will "feature a selection of one-act works, including an upbeat reading of Tennessee Williams' The Glass Menagerie. Although the play is known as a tragic masterpiece, Williams wrote a one-act version which ends on a more hopeful note than the later which debuted on Broadway."

Elaine Stritch received Tony and Emmy Awards for Elaine Stritch at Liberty, which traces a stellar career that boasts roles in Company, The Little Foxes, Bus Stop, A Delicate Balance, Sail Away and Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?

The Lighter Side of Tennessee Williams is presented by Food for Thought Productions.

The South Orange Performing Arts Center is located at One SOPAC Way in South Orange, NJ. For ticket information visit www.sopacnow.org.
