News Emily Loesser Heads Cast of London Carousel Concert in June Emily Loesser, daughter of Guys and Dolls composer Frank Loesser and star of Broadway's Titanic, will portray Julie Jordan in the upcoming concert presentation of Carousel at London's Royal Festival Hall.

Emily Loesser, daughter of Guys and Dolls composer Frank Loesser and star of Broadway's Titanic, will portray Julie Jordan in the upcoming concert presentation of Carousel at London's Royal Festival Hall.

Backed by the BBC Concert Orchestra, Rodgers and Hammerstein's classic musical will be presented on Saturday, June 15 at 7:30 PM and on Sunday, June 16 at 2:30 and 7:30 PM at the famed concert hall. Spencer McLaren — who has appeared in the Australian productions of Beauty and the Beast and Cats — will play the role of Billy Bigelow, and the remainder of the cast comprises Sophie-Louise Dann as Carrie Pipperidge, John Owen Jones as Enoch Snow, Kathryn Harries as Nettie Fowler, Nigel Richards as Jigger Craigin, Anita Pashley as Mrs. Mullin, Laura Michelle Kelly as Louise and Julian Glover as Starkeeper/Dr Seldon/Celebrity guest. Capital Voices will also be part of the R&H event.

Carousel bowed on Broadway in April 1945 at the Majestic Theatre, where it played 890 performances. The celebrated score includes such tunes as "June Is Bustin' Out All Over," "Mister Snow," "Soliloquy," "What's the Use of Wond'rin'?" and "You'll Never Walk Alone." An all-star concert of Carousel is also scheduled for New York's Carnegie Hall on June 6 starring Audra McDonald and Hugh Jackman.
