News E.S.T Makes Contact With The Enemy No More; Gilroy Play Closes Dec. 4 One Off-Broadway Contact has come to an end. The world premiere of Pulitzer and Tony Award-winner Frank D. Gilroy's play, Contact With the Enemy, will close Dec. 4 at New York City's Ensemble Studio Theatre. Previews began Nov. 10 for an opening Nov. 15.

One Off-Broadway Contact has come to an end. The world premiere of Pulitzer and Tony Award-winner Frank D. Gilroy's play, Contact With the Enemy, will close Dec. 4 at New York City's Ensemble Studio Theatre. Previews began Nov. 10 for an opening Nov. 15.

Set post-World War II, Contact With the Enemy unexpectedly reunites two American combat veterans at the United States Holocaust Museum. As they tour the museum, they remember the atrocities of the Holocaust through very different eyes. Gilroy won his Pulitzer, Tony and a Drama Critics' Circle Award for The Subject Was Roses. Other plays include That Summer - That Fall, Last Licks and Any Given Day. Fourteen of his short plays have been presented by E.S.T.

Chris Smith, a Gilroy veteran with A Way With Words, Getting In,The Golf Ball and a workshop of Grang, directs. Featured in the cast are Paul Bartholomew, Nesbitt Blaisdell, Kathryn Gayner, Cynthia Hayden and Christopher Murney.

Designing the show are Kert Lundell (set), Julie Doyle (costumes), Michael Lincoln (lighting) and Beatrice Terry (sound).
