Venues in cities across the country and in Canada are lining up for the fall and into the new year. Among the tour stops already scheduled include The Ordway (St. Paul, MN), Philadelphia's Annenberg Center, Rich Forum (Stamford, CT), McGlohan Theatre (Charlotte, NC), Miami's Coconut Grove Playhouse, Fletcher Opera House (Raleigh, NC), Dallas' Majestic Theatre, Los Angeles' Wadsworth Theatre, Detroit's Music Hall, The Wonder Ballroom (Portland, OR), Seattle's Moore Theatre, Centre East (Skokie, IL), Toronto's Massey Hall, Boston's Emerson Theatre, Fort Lauderdale's Parker Playhouse, Vancouver's Vogue Theatre and Center for the Arts (Scottsdale, AZ) with additional dates being planned for Atlanta, GA and Washington, D.C.

Presented by Harriet Newman Leve, in association with Ron Nicynski, Mark Kaplan, Michele Crowley and associate producers Allison Prouty and Laura Wagner, the work by author of Vagina Monologues takes an "inside look at the outside," focusing further on the female anatomy. Peter Askin (Sexaholix, Trumbo, Hedwig and the Angry Inch) directs.

Inspired by the widespread popularity of her previous boundary-breaking work The Vagina Monologues, Ensler spoke with women all over the world about their bodies in her travels. From those conversations, the scribe developed her own script for The Good Body which focuses on the rest of the female anatomy, exploring the lengths women (herself included) go to for a culturally accepted perception of "good." The actress-scribe performs a number of characters including actress Isabella Rossellini.

Following 27 previews and 40 regular performances, Ensler's Broadway debut closed Dec. 19 at the Booth Theatre. The Good Body began previews Oct. 22, 2004 and opened Nov. 15 for a limited run.

The Good Body made its world premiere at San Francisco's American Conservatory Theatre the prior summer following a workshop production at Seattle Repertory Theatre. Familiar with the solo genre, Askin has directed John Leguizamo's Sexaholix...a love story for Broadway as well as Dinner with Demons, Trumbo, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Mambo Mouth and Spic-O Rama.

In addition to The Vagina Monologues, Eve Ensler has also written the plays Lemonade, Necessary Targets, The Depot, Floating Rhoda and the Glue Man, Extraordinary Measures, Ladies and Scooncat. Her OBIE Award-winning Vagina Monologues is still produced around the world following its successful Off-Broadway run which opened on Oct. 3, 1999 and ran through Jan. 26, 2003.

The design team for The Good Body tour will feature Robert Brill (set), Susan Hilferty (costume), Kevin Adams (lighting), David Van Tieghem (sound and original music), Jill B.C. Du Boff (sound).
