News   Evening of Short Plays Leads Audiences Through a Theatrical Feast

The WorkShop Theater Company will present an evening of six short plays titled A La Carte: a Feast of New Plays. In each of the plays, of various genres, food motifs are used to examine life, love, sex and conflict.

Performances of A La Carte: a Feast of New Plays will run April 9-May 2 at WorkShop Theater Company Off-Broadway. The evening is directed by Leslie Kincaid Burby.

"The idea is to start in a place of hunger," press notes state. "And then have courses (fish, eggs, popcorn, and finally dessert). Throughout the evening, food motifs are used to examine the daily struggles of life and the social and personal issues behind them."

The six plays to be featured are:

The Cook and the Solider by Allan Knee
Popcorn by Scott C. Sickles
Eat Dessert First by Dana Leslie Goldstein
Fish Food by Laura Hirschberg
The Incredible Egg by Laurie Graff
Palate Cleanser by Gary Giovanetti

WorkShop Theater is located at 312 West 36th St., New York. Tickets are available online workshoptheater.org or by calling (866) 811-4111.
