Tickets will become available April 28, with pre-sale beginning April 14 for those supporting the Kickstarter campaign

The cast will take the stage of Sunset Strip's historic The Viper Room for a one-night-only showcase celebrating the upcoming production April 18 at 10:30 PM. Tickets are available at ViperRoom.com

The production takes a page from the punk rock band, which formed in 1986 and conquered the underground concert scene. In fact, in the Green Day video game, one of the settings is called "The Warehouse," a fictional venue set in 1994 that is based on a composite of "house parties and squats" where Green Day played before they became popular. American Idiot, crafted from the iconic Grammy Award-winning album by Green Day, "chronicles the frustration, anger, and dreams of a lost generation of young Americans as they struggle to find meaning in a post 9/11 world," according to glory|struck. "Borne along by an electrifying score, the show follows the exhilarating journey of three disaffected friends seeking an identity outside the safety of suburbia in the face of love, failure, violence, and temptation."

The production will be directed by Topher Rhys and Jen Oundjian, who reunite with musical director Elmo Zapp. Oundjian ("The Oprah Winfrey Show," "America's Got Talent" and "Dancing with the Stars") will also choreograph the show.

It will be produced by Rhys, Jamie Lee Barnard and Juliana Scott, who most recently brought the Los Angeles revival of bare to life at the historic Hayworth Theatre. Glory|struck has also produced Spring Awakening in Concert.

Conceived by Michael Mayer and Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong, American Idiot features "Boulevard of Broken Dreams," "Wake Me Up When September Ends," "Holiday," "21 Guns" and the title track "American Idiot," among others.

Glory|struck creates "music-driven art that aligns poignant narratives with social issues." Their mission is to "bring theatre back to our concert-loving roots – vibrant, guitar-heavy, and loud – while using the music and its message to inspire collective action."

This production of American Idiot will launch a social action campaign to generate awareness for To Write Love on Her Arms and Homefront Rising, two non-profits whose missions closely align with the themes of the show.
